Although Nepal is most famous as the home of the Earth's highest mountain, Mt. Everest, it's also home to some absolutely killer mountain biking. Nepal's capital city is Kathmandu, also known as the City of Temples. It's located in the bowl-shaped Kathmandu Valley in central Nepal. Nepal has played a pivotal role in the development of both Hinduism and Buddhism; in fact, it's home to Gautama Buddha, the founder of Buddhism, who was born in southern Nepal. With Haku Expeditions, you'll get to cycle past and explore local religious sites, spin prayer wheels, visit markets and more, both in Kathmandu and out on the MTB trails. You'll also be staying in a mixture of hotels and traditional tea houses, which are mountain lodges located along many of the trekking routes that wind through the Himalayas.
