“For my daughter’s 21st birthday, I offered her a trip to Peru, Machu Picchu. We stayed in an appartment in a colonial building, with and organized by Haku Expeditions. We also did the 5 day Salkantay Trek organized by Haku. It was excellently organized from the beginning to the end. While tourism is done very professionally in Peru (we also did some separate trips to Lake Titikaka and some other, smaller trips), the Haku trip stood out. From the start to the end, everything taken care of. That was a good thing considering my daughter is more used to New York City than to mountain treks, and actually, while I personally am a regular on the etape de tour (bicycling), I am not used to high altitude either. Good hotels, and fantastic restaurant, totally first class anywhere in the world (easily compares to the best restos in NY or London), so great choice by Haku.”
“If your looking to Travel away from the beaten path of life, Haku Expeditions is able to arrange your wildest fantasy. We signed up for a 3 day/2 night expedition in search of the Andean Condor. The trek was masterly arranged by Haku Expeditions !!! Prior to departing Cusco, we were educated by this wonderful outfit on what to expect along the way. We ventured off into the Andes Mountains with a pair of binoculars and not a worry in the world. I can not describe the scenery nor the emotions which flooded our senses throughout every minute of this expedition. It was truly Amazing and my soul yearns to get back asap and do it all over again. I can not praise Nicole and William Koch (Owners of Haku Expeditions) enough, they are true experts in their field and super knowledgeable about this entire area. This boutique outfit has something very special to offer for any inquiry or requests you might have. They have changed the way we look at life going forward:)”
“Nicole helped me make fairly last minute adjustments to a trip that was already partly planned, and the parts of my trip that she organized were the very best parts of my whole time in Peru. I didn’t really know specifically what I wanted to set up, and she really understood the kind of experience I wanted and helped me make it happen, including a great hike to Huchuy Quosco. She was also unbelievably helpful and available when it came to logistics like changing train tickets, organizing a guide and a hike at Machu Picchu, and contacting the guide for our Huchuy Quosco Hike when we needed to scale it back a bit due to my boyfriend’s gimpy knees. The guides she set up were fantastic. I could not have done it without her, no exaggeration, and in addition to being extremely competent and responsive, she was lovely and funny and great. I just got back from my trip, and now all I want is to go back to get her help planning some more serious hiking and trekking, and also maybe just to hang out with her :)”
“One of the highlights of our South America trip, we experienced the Choquequirao trek in late April/Early May 2017. Our initial experience with Haku Expeditions in terms of communication was a bit rocky, especially with some miscommunication mainly to do with getting to our accommodation (eg. Taxi pick-up from Cusco airport (arrivals), and organising ‘key’ transfers. Accommodation was also booked through Haku). We were lucky enough to have an intimate trekking team, as our group was supposed to be accompanied by more tourists but they didn’t show up! Nevertheless, the actual trek itself was amazing. The views were spectacular. Our tour guide (Ruben) along with our horsemen were so organised, welcoming and accomodating. We had fantastic views and were very lucky with the weather (as it was apparently raining a week prior to our trek). Our guides/team could not have been more amazing, and it made the trek and journey better than we could have imagined. If we were to come back to Peru, we would definitely highly recommend the team, especially on this somewhat difficult trek. I wish we were still in Cusco, experiencing the hospitality, food and scenery!”
“I’ve crossed off a lot of locations on my mountain bike bucket-list: Alps, Rockies, PNW. Along the way I’ve used a number of different guides and outfits, but the time and trails shown to us in Peru by Haku Expeditions was another level of adventure.”
“I recently took a solo trip to Peru. Like most people, my main goal was to go to Machu Picchu. Other than that, I really had no idea what else to do in Cusco. Bill and Nic from Haku showed me everything Cusco and its surrounding area had to offer. Some of the activities they arranged for me included horse back riding above Cusco’s hills, ATVing throughout the Sacred Valley, zip lining, bike riding and an hiking the Salkantay trail to Machu Picchu. Bill and Nic have done all of these activities themselves to assure that they are of the highest quality. And they are. They go through great lengths to make sure that your trip to Peru is a memorable one. Highly recommend Haku expeditions if you plan to visit Peru.”
